The Pooka (Premiere) + 1950 classic Harvey!

Champaign premiere of Luke Boyce’s new film!

NR, 120 minutes

This Is Us star Chris Sullivan (Taserface in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) stars in Luke Boyce’s The Pooka, a fantastical short film about a benevolent oversized rabbit who finds himself at a mysteriously empty and grim house where he uncovers a solitary woman (Masters of Sex’s Lily Rains) in a very dark place. Not content to leave her to her current reality, he decides to motivate her catharsis, only to find that sometimes the only way out – is through. Directed by local filmmaker Luke Boyce (a long-time Art Theater advocate) this strange and delightful meditation on grief makes its hometown premiere in Champaign where it was originally filmed in 2016 and is currently making it’s way on the festival circuit, having just played at the Chicago Underground Film Festival as well as the Palm Springs International ShortFest, the biggest short film festival in the US. (2017, Luke Boyce, NR, 25 min)

Followed by a screening of another great rabbit film: Henry Koster’s 1950 comedy classic Harvey, starring Jimmy Stewart!
